4 Great Volleyball Hitting Drills

Hitters or players need to be all-rounder in their field and nicely trained in different skills and the best way to improve their skills is by performing regular drills. Hitting drills makes a player much more experienced and skillful. So here we’ve compiled a list of four nice drills which you can practice and turn yourself into professional in no time.

Corners Drill
The ‘Corner Drill’ is an amazing drill for improving players hitting accuracy. Start by placing chairs in each of the four corners of the volleyball court and make players line up near the net just out of the bounds. The trainer or the coach must then stand near the net on the same side of the court and toss the ball into the air for the first player to hit. If the player manages or succeeds to hit any of the four chairs they score a point. The player with the most hits or points wins the drill. This drill is superb for teaching the players how to hit hard over long distances with great accuracy.

Wall Drill
The ‘Wall drill’ is yet another great drill for beginners learning to hit with greater accuracy. Start the drill by making players stand atleast 10 feet away from a wall with a volleyball in their hands. Then make them throw the ball towards the wall so that it hits the wall and then bounces back to the player so that they can hit it again. Player continues to do so as many times as they want or until the coach announces the end of the drill. This drill will make players become extremely comfortable at hitting.

Team Block Drill
The ‘Team Block Drill’ is actually a nice drill to help teach hitters to see before they hit. The drill with six players each on the hitters side and others on blocking side on the net. The Coach then toss the ball in the air for the hitters to hit and run a play. However the six blockers at the net will make it difficult for hitters by trying to shut down their each hit. Even more the hitters are not allowed to tip over the top of the block so they absolutely have have to find a way around.

Reaction Drill
This drill will help hitters to conform mid-air to see what the protection is doing as such that they can better respond to it. Begin by having the player’s line up at the administration line on one side of the court. The main player should then go to the net and turns into a setter. The second player then turns into the hitter.
The setter begins by setting the ball at the net and the hitter then runs and bounced to make the hit. At the point when the hitter is noticeable all around the mentor must shout out a certain zone of the court for the player to hit and the hitter should then go for that spot. Once the hitter has hit the ball turn the spots with the setter heading off to the back of the line, the hitter turning into the setter and the individual at the front of the line turning into the hitter.
